Normally I don’t share the cards I make for family. Only because the material is either an inside joke, crass, or both if I’m lucky. But since this year’s Mother Day card continues to make me smile I felt at least like sharing this one. S’enjoy.
The following is a “style test” which failed to be utilized in recent presentation. That aside, I felt it was worth sharing because it demonstrated how far I could bend my style.
So the above is the rough sketch which was placed in Illustrator…
…and here’s the results after drawing over the sketch and partying with gradients. So while I’m never asked to play in Illustrator it’s worth noting I can at least handle the pen tool. :)

Our new home still has the previous owner’s name on the mailbox. Only because they painted it on though. So here’s a few of the sketch kick’n around the house outlining a plan to fix that. First the “wrong shape” sketch followed by the more realistic-shaped sketch.
