Her Invites – Part 1

Managed to slip an illustration for my daughter’s birthday invites into production yesterday. Like I’m really going to buy some. C’mon now. Anyhow, the date is approaching fast and they should have been in the mail Monday. So I have to knock ’em out today. Here’s how it’s evolved since yesterday night during dinner…

…Illustrator’s “Live Trace” will cleanify it. Once that’s complete I’ll drop it into PS as a “Smart Object” and color it. Once that’s complete the best approach for type may be to revisit Illustrator. Not sure yet. In the end I’ll have a 4×6 aspect ratio piece, that’ll play nice with whatever plain envelopes are chosen, ready for printing on the Pixar…uhm, I mean…Pixma IP4200. Oh, character scaling and facial adjustments are cake after it’s been vectorized. Stay tuned.
